Hello, my friends and visitors! This is my very first blog post (yay!), and of course, I have plans to post every day and share my vast wisdom. But, of course, I’ll post maybe every other week, and the wisdom will be questionable.
I do though want to share about this year, which started off normal enough, but quickly went downhill. Like you all experienced, my life was crazy, frustrating, heartbreaking. But, for me, there was an odd sense of hope about it. Maybe because I kept thinking it couldn’t get any worse. It did, of course, and it’s not done yet.
But because I thought there wasn’t much left to lose, or maybe because I hit my mid-40s, I made some pretty scary decisions, and did some things I wouldn’t have done otherwise.
I ran—actually Ran—my first 5K. I stood up for myself a time or two. I watched someone I loved pass over to a new universe. And I finished two novels, one of which will be published by the end of the year. Those were all kind of scary things, but looking back on it, I’m pretty proud of myself.
2020 isn’t over, so I think we all need to be prepared for more crazy, frustrating, terrifying things. But maybe there’s some wonder in looking back and being proud of just getting through it.
So, here’s to the end of 2020. Show us what you got!
